As seen on CBS, security expert and Inc. 5000 CEO Paul Hager will discuss how easy it is for hackers to access your personal and company’s data. Without even knowing it, you could be offering very private information to strangers every single day. In 2016, it will no longer be the question of “Will my private business data be breached?” Rather, it will be the question of when you will get attacked, how bad the aftermath will be, and how well prepared you were prior to the attack. Learn the latest on cybersecurity, fraud, phishing, passwords and how technology can protect your home while you’re away traveling.

Speed Networking

Facilitator:  Michael Nelson, VP Account Management, Central Region - Direct Travel

According to GBTA North Central Chapter meeting survey results, more than 50% of respondents attend meetings to network.  So let’s network!  Meet and interact with other members and guests.  This will be a fun and fast-paced session that enables attendees to interact with other attendees in a series of short one on-one exchanges.  This event can be a powerful way to launch your networking goals and meet new people.  Bring business cards to exchange.

There are as many as 1.8 million children exploited in prostitution or pornography worldwide.  Human trafficking alone as an illegal industry generates billions of US dollars.  It’s believed that nearly 80% of all trafficking worldwide is for sexual exploitation, with over 20% of the victims children.  Traffickers use transportation companies to move victims and hotels as venues for abuse.  In response, companies partner with ECPAT-USA to learn how to identify, report, and even prevent children from being sexually exploited.  Sarah will help us understand what the travel industry can do to help eradicate this modern day slavery.

Doing More With Less – Making an impact with all that you’ve got!

Speaker:  Billy McLaughlin – Musician, Composer, Inspirational Performer

Are you asked to do more with less? Budget cuts, re-organization, ownership changes and shifts in the economy all create an environment of expectations for results that are seemingly unattainable. Yet, as dramatic and painful as circumstances may be, they come with a gift: self-discovery. Having endured a condition that took away his health and career, Billy McLaughlin understands the importance of celebrating this gift. He demonstrates the marvel of discovering what you CAN do with the resources you HAVE when you stop focusing on those you’ve lost. Billy shows you how you can make meaningful change for yourself and your community when you move out of the mindset that everything is broken. By realizing what still works and what still matters, you can make a significant difference, regardless of the obstacles. Listen to Billy’s story and choose to be a “difference-maker”!
