With a new administration at the helm in Washington, there have been several issues discussed in the media and on Capitol Hill that affect the business travel industry—good and bad. The goal of GBTA North Central’s October Chapter meeting is to bring you up to speed on what’s going on! Topics you’ll hear about include the Travel Ban (anticipated to cost business travelers over $185 million in lost bookings), the proposed increase to Passenger Security Fee (resulting in a $550 million tax increase on all travelers) and the soon to be implemented REAL ID Act (how will Minnesota travelers be impacted?).

We welcome Andrew Meehan, Vice President of Government Relations at GBTA, as our October speaker. Andrew will provide an update on what is going on in Washington, D.C., GBTA’s position on the issues, and what the forecast is for the business travel industry. Senator Amy Klobuchar has also been invited to attend and discuss these issues with our members—we hope she can make it!

If you are responsible to be knowledgeable about these topics at your organization or to provide information your company’s travelers, be sure to register today! Our event registration form will include the opportunity for you to submit questions/topics you’d like addressed at the meeting. As always, feel free to register others from your organization who might benefit from attending and hearing about these important topics.
