2025 Chapter Challenge

To achieve Partner Status, Chapters must complete the following criteria:

• Chapter Invites an elected/government official to speak OR hosts a GBTA GR themed meeting

• 40% of Chapter members must send an email to an elected official through the GBTA website

• Chapters must send an endorsed GBTA letter to its area’s/Federal elected official

• Total Chapter PAC donations are greater than or equal to $7.50 per chapter member with at least 30% of  members donating

• Chapter must assign a person to serve as a liaison to GBTA Government Relations
  
• Bonus Points (3 Points Maximum)
  • 1 Chapter attends 2024 Legislative Summit
  • 1 Total Chapter PAC donations are greater than or equal to $10.00 per chapter member with at least 30% of members donating.
  • 1 Total Chapter PAC donations are greater than or equal to $10.00 per chapter member with at least 50% of members donating

About the Government Relations Committee

GBTA North Central Chapter's Government Relations Committee in conjunction with GBTA, brings the collective voice of business travel to Washington.

The objectives of the Government Relations committee are to:

• Facilitate the Business Travel Political Action Committee (PAC) in conjunction with GBTA
• Give Chapter members opportunities to get involved in issues that affect business travel through the Legislative Action Center
• Introduce the business travel industry to elected officials in Washington and bring the issues home to the Congressional District
• Raise and advocate on issues of concern to elected officials
• Bring the collective voice of business travel to Washington by having a North Central Member lobby on our Chapter member’s behalf

Business travel accounts for a significant portion of the travel industry, one of the most important segments of the American economy, which employs one in every seven workers. Travel plays an integral role in the success of American businesses in every industry. GBTA North Central Chapter's/GBTA members contribute heavily to that success, directing more than $170 billion in travel & entertainment expenses each year. Laws and policies that affect GBTA North Central Chapter's/GBTA members and their companies’ travelers have a real impact on American businesses and the economy.
